(More customer reviews)After getting frustrated at my balled-up towels and heavy washing machine loads, I opted to try Savasa's Yoga Mate.When it arrived I was so excited, it fits over the mat perfectly, and is light enough to carry without any stress.The first use was equally happy, the towel worked very well, though I was a little taken aback by its thinness and harsher cotton weaving.

It fit into the wash machine very nicely, and was not a burden on the load as a regular towel full of sweat would have been.But the problems started after the drying, when, despite using a low-heat cycle, the Yoga Mate shrank to near 75% of its original size--no longer fitting over the mat, and certainly not allowing for the wide-leg poses of the standing Bikram session.

I think I'll go back to towels, sure they are wasteful, but they do work.The concept here is good, but the materials just aren't up to snuff.

(More customer reviews)I have a hard time finding headbands because the tight ones give me terrible headaches and the loose ones won't hold my hair back.This is the perfect medium.I holds my hair even after 45 minutes of running and isn't so tight that I get headaches.

I don't care about color - although they were dead on.There's not much difference to be found in black, grey, tan and brown.

(More customer reviews)I purchased several of these towels for myself and as gifts for my friends.Here are some pros & cons:

Pros:
1.Fits yoga mat completely.If you practice hot yoga and don't clean your mat after every class, it's more hygienic to protect yourself from your mat with a towel that covers the whole mat.

2. It is easy on your washing machine than a regular towel because it is most likely smaller (especially if you're using a beach towel for your mat).It is easier on your dryer because it drys faster since it is not made of thick cotton.

Cons:
1. You might be unlucky and get a weird towel that's not the right size to fit your mat.I purchased several of them and one was a little off in size (not as wide) compared to the others.It's a bit annoying but it still works the same as the others.

2. It doesn't help with slipping much, but as your practice improves, this may be a good thing.You're challenging yourself and not using any extra equipment to help you in your practice.

3. It moves around/bunches up sometimes during your practice (during sun salutations), but I never found this to be a big deal.Just move it back.

4.It will not prevent your mat from getting drenched with your sweat.In fact, you probably won't find a towel thick enough to protect your mat from your sweat...unless you don't sweat much during your practice.

5.It only comes it one color right now: a light grey.This isn't so bad because you can actually bleach once in a while to get a good cleaning.If you bleached colored towels...they will not look good afterwards! Overall, I found these towels useful and it helped with reducing the laundry load because they're smaller/thinner than the regular towels I used before.

Yogitoes Premium Shiva Pillow Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a fan of the Yogitoes products (except the yoga bag) and received the Shiva Pillow as a gift.It took a while for me to take it into my hot yoga class but now I love it!It makes savasana much more comfortable on my back when I put the pillow at the base of my skull (under my neck).It really helps to take some of the stress from my lower back.

It's also great for camel or any other pose that requires being on your knees. I wish I had 2 of them but I think it's a bit pricey so I use a folded towel for one knee and the pillow for the more sensitive knee.

It's also great for child's pose, just to rest your forehead slightly higher on the pillow vs the ground.

Overall, I would recommend it and would have given it 5 stars had the price not been a factor.

The pillow is very dense and squishy (like memory foam)... but one minor complaint I have is that the cover is a bit of a pain to get off/on to wash.I wish they would make the zippered part about another inch longer.

(More customer reviews)This was recommended to me by my yoga teacher...very useful if you practice Ashtanga or other "vinyasa flow" (i.e. sweaty!) yoga.It's the exact size of a standard yoga mat, it doesn't bunch up and trip me when I'm trying to jump through, and it absolutely stops my hands and feet from slipping.Plus, it folds up a lot smaller than a blanket and is easier to fit in a mat bag.It's kind of spendy, but worth it if you practice regularly. Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)I love this mat towel. It is the only one of it's kind (that I've found) and whoever came up w/ it is a genius. I bought it about a year ago and attend classes 2-3 times a week. Needless to say, it's been through a lot of abuse and washings (I air dry b/c it's "greener" and b/c the tag said it might stain the inside of the dryer) and it still looks & works great. It's very helpful in giving you a little bit more stability from slipping/sliding on your mat (we live in a very warm climate, so perspiration is an issue). I've found I can try more intense poses with more confidence, and less slipping.

Kulae Hot Yoga Towel Review

(More customer reviews)I started hot yoga about 2 months ago and as wit hany new hobby I gave it 30 days before i started buying accessories.My first mat towel was the Gaiam yoga towel because it was the cheapest on the marketGaiam Thirsty Yoga Towel (Smokey Purple).After remaining dedicated to yoga and going consitently 3 times a week it was time for a new towel an I purchased this one. It does not absorb sweat quickly as my Gaiam does, on the contrary at the end of class my mat is soaked.The towel slides around and is bigger than my mat but not by much so I wouldn't classify it as truly oversized.For my next towel I will either go back to the gaiam or try to yogitoes.

Manduka Standard eQua Towel Review

(More customer reviews)I own both a Manduka towel and the Yogitoes towel and here's what I wish I would have known:The Manduka feels softer than the Yogitoes, and certainly is more versatile, since it can be used as a regular towel or even a blanket.They both feel pretty stable (can't avoid all slipping of the hands in down dog) when wet, but the major difference is that the Maduka has a tendency to bunch up more than the Yogitoes on my yoga mat during practice.The nubs on the Yogitoes do help a lot to grip the towel on the yoga mat to prevent slippage while you're jumping up to the top of the mat or performing a lunge.Caveat: I have a Gaiam yoga mat, so I'm not certain if the Manduka towel works better with the Manduka yoga mats.I have the pink Manduka - it's quite lovely and I haven't experienced any bleeding in the wash (unlike my purple Yogitoes!).But the bunching issue is really annoying, and for this reason alone, if I need another yoga towel, I would go with another Yogitoes.

UPDATE: I've since purchased a Manduka yoga mat, and the Manduka towel is MUCH better paired with the Manduka mat.In fact, I can't use the Yogitoes towel with the Maduka mat because the nubs do not grip the smoother surface of a Manduka mat very well.So in deciding which towel to purchase, bottom line is it will depend on the surface of the yoga mat you have.Yogitoes towel for your "normal" yoga mats (typically $10-$30) made of soft rubber and has a slightly nubby surface area.Maduka towel for the Maduka mats, where the surface area appears much smoother because the rubber is denser.

Nature Collection Yoga Mat 1/8" Review

(More customer reviews)I have been practicing yoga for quite awhile, and I have tried many different mats. I figured this would just be a prettier version of your basic sticky mat, but I am happy to say that it is noticeably softer and more cushioned-feeling than other sticky mats with the same measurements.

My mat stays in place for my routine and doesn't leave an angry waffle-pattern on my legs after sitting in lotus position for a while. Like all sticky mats, it has a bit of a chemical scent when first opened. This airs out over time, and is actually nowhere near the smell of other mats I have had.

I noticed another reviewer was complaining about a lack of stickiness, and to that I suggest following the directions for washing your mat, as a dirty floor is probably to blame. I was pleased to find the free yoga class certificate, and I look forward to signing up! This is an excellent sticky mat at a good price, and it's pretty, too!

(More customer reviews)This yoga towel is the best for Ashtanga and hot yoga.I use it with the Manduka 85" mat & the combination is the best.If you don't break a sweat, then don't bother.If you do, then you cannot live without this towel.Be sure to wash it, the dark towels bleed like crazy.This towel had little nubs on the bottom that make it stick to your mat.It's great.I don't think it's really that pricey considering I use it 3 times a week or more.

(More customer reviews)This mat has it all. It's beautiful (the colors are rich and vibrant), and the texture is perfect (soft, sticky, durable). My first mat was from Gaiam, which has a beautiful print but is too slippery. My second was Savasa Natural Designs Collection Yoga Mat, which is nice but a little thin and starting to show wear. The Hugger Mugger mat's colors are part of the material (not just a print on top), and it feels substantial while also providing a great surface for holding poses. I'm surprised by how much I like the orange-red color, but it's so nice, I might just have to buy a purple-blue one as well!

(More customer reviews)This mat is only of standard thickness (1/8"), but it is the best 1/8" mat I have ever tried!

The last 1/8" mat I had barely protected me from the floor; this one has a memory-foam-like quality, and really does a good job of cushioning me in comparison to the Hugger Mugger one I had last time.

While a 1/4" might be squishier, this is a really very good 1/8" mat, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality....

Hugger Mugger 74 Inch Tapas Ultra Mat - 1/4" Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this because of the extra thickness and it is thick; however, this mat gets very, very slippery with just minimal sweating.I am fairly new to yoga and I'm not doing hot, sweaty Ashtanga - we're talking basic yoga with some vinyasa.This would be unsuitable if you were a really proficient practitioner.I've had this less than a year and have tried various cleansers but nothing makes it less slippery.I'm in the market for a new mat and will try something more highly textured.
