Where the mat folds up it did have a slight tear,in that fold, but for using it daily at school it was in great shape everywhere else.I got the thicker one and my son still uses it at home.He uses it when on the floor to play video games or watch tv or for just playing in general.Our cat also LOVES to lay on it.We got our money's worth and it is MADE in the USA!Safe for him to sleep on.:0 ) It was easy for him to find at school as it was made with the different colors.Great mat!
